Today 140 years ago, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York in 350 pieces from France. Some rare photos taken in 1938 from the torch - closed to the public after the 1916 Black Tom explosion - shows a steeplejack restoring the statue and some tourists peering out from under Liberty's crown.
